Biography
Dr. Kwang Sun Kim received his Bachelor of Science degree from the Mechanical Engineering Department of Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea, in 1978. He came to USA to continue his graduate programs at the Mechanical Engineering Department of University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas, in 1980 and obtained his MS and Ph.D. degrees in the areas of heat/mass/momentum transfer in 1983 and 1986 respectively. After he completed his graduate studies at the University of Kansas, he joined the US company "Gibbs and Hill Inc.", and worked as an engineer for analyzing the nuclear reactor system for two years. Dr. Kim came back to Korea to work at the Korean company "Samsung Aerospace Inc." as a general manager starting in 1989 and ending in 1992. From 1992 to the present, Dr. Kim has been a professor at the Mechatronics Engineering Department of Korea University of Technology & Education, and has taught Computational Fluid Mechanics, Heat and Mass Transfer, Advanced Thermodynamics, and Control Engineering. His recent research interests are in the areas of the semiconductor manufacturing process and equipments, micro heat and fluid flow, and numerical methods. He has published more than 50 articles at the international journals and conferences relating to his teaching and research interests.
